Oven Potatoes
This is a two stage cooking dish. It's a mixture of a few recipes combined.
Ingredients

First stage of cooking

15 medium sized potatoes

As needed water to boil potatoes

1-1/2 tablespoons salt

Second stage cooking

2 sticks butter
-
To taste salt and pepper

1 pound fried bacon crumbles

8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Topping

To taste sour cream
Cooking Instructions

Melt 1 stick of butter to coat the bottom of the pan. Preheat your oven to 450° Fahrenheit. Boil the potatoes till fork tender in the salted water. Smash the potatoes in a buttered 13×19 pan. Add the cheese, bacon, salt and pepper. Taste the potatoes before salting them, for they will absorb salt in the boiling. Put the last stick of butter on top in pats. Put the pan into the oven with the bacon and butter, on top.

Bake in oven for 45 minutes. Take the pan out add the cheese on top and put it back into the oven for 15-20 minutes. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
