The flavor is only slight but is notable. When frying in tallow, lard, goose fat, duck fat and so on it has a flavour impact. Potatoes are very good also, fried in animal fats.

  5. 1-1/4 cup buttermilk
  6. To taste salt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Put some of the tallow in a cast iron skillet. Pour half into a heat safe container.

  2. 2

Mix the cornbread batter ingredients. Shallow fry the cornbread in the beef tallow.

When the bubbles appear in the cornbread pieces then, it's time to turn them.

  4. 4

Move to some paper towels to absorb excessive amounts of oil. Add more of the tallow and repeat till all is done. Serve I hope you enjoy!!!
