Oven Baked cajun BBQ Chicken Legs

This recipe is my creation for summer grilling out; but I decided to make it inside today in the oven. Turn out great! Enjoy!

Ingredients

39 minutes
5 servings
  1. 2 cups bbq. Sauce; (sweet baby Ray)
  2. 21/2 Tbsp. Holy Smoke bbq rub seasoning;(can only buy it in Tenn
  3. (You can use whatever bbq. Rub seasoning you want too.)
  4. 1 Tbsp. Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning
  5. 1/2 Tsp. Each of kosher salt & freshly ground pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  2. 2

    Blend together Cajun seasoning, BBQ seasoning, salt & freshly ground black pepper.

    Coat chicken legs on all sides with Olive oil.

  4. 4

    Season chicken legs on all side with seasoning mixture.

  5. 5

    Place chicken legs skin side down on a baking sheet pan.

  6. 6

    Bake for 25 minutes.

  7. 7

    Remove from oven and turn the tempture up to 425 degrees.

  8. 8

    Coat tops of the chicken legs with bbq sauce using a basting brush.

  9. 9

    Using a spatula; flip the chicken legs over; being careful not to tear the skin.

  10. 10

    Coat the other side of the chicken legs with bbq sauce.

  11. 11

    Place back into the oven and cook for 7 minutes.

  12. 12

    Remove from oven and repeat steps 8 thru 10 again.

  13. 13

    Place back into oven and cook for another 7 minutes or until chicken legs are crispy and parts are blackened; chicken legs are done.

    Reomve from oven and let cool down before serving.

    Serve and enjoy!
