Chow Mein Pasta
Description
You can make your own Chinese takeout!

Ingredients:
spaghetti
300 g
fried tofu (use a paper towel to remove the grease and then chop into bite-sized pieces)
1 pack
OR shrimp, chicken, thinly sliced beef or pork
200 g
carrot (julienne)
1 medium
OR red bell pepper (julienne)
1 small or 1 medium half
mushroom (shiitake or oyster) mushroom sliced)
1 cup
scallions (inch long chopped green part, thinly sliced white part)

snow peas
1 cup
bean sprout
2 cups
garlic (minced)
2 cloves
canola oil
3 tablespoons

for the sauce:
2 tablespoons
potato starch
2 teaspoons
oyster sauce
2 tablespoons
Chinese light soy sauce
1 tablespoon
Chinese dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon
sake
2 tablespoons
cane sugar
2 teaspoons
toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoons
chicken bouillon powder
1 teaspoon

Cook pasta according to the package directions. Set aside.

Mix all the sauce ingredients.

Prepare all the ingredients!

Oil in a wok over medium high heat, add garlic.

Add tofu, carrots, mushrooms, then cook. Stir occasionally.

Add peas, scallion and stir. Cook.

Add bean sprouts right before adding pasta to not overcook.

Chow men is a great stir-fried dish using leftover vegetables. Adjust the timing to keep a great texture while cooking!

We don't have Hong Kong pan-fried noodles, but we have pasta! Pasta is a good sub for Chinese noodles. It works WELL!
