Description

A citrus base w/ sweet and sour sauce with tofu and veggies!

材料 (3-4 serving)

extra firm or medium firm tofu
1 pack
red bell pepper (chopped)
1/2 medium
celery (angled)
1 stalk
sweet or yellow onion (angled)
1/2 medium
garlic (minced)
1 clove
 
canola oil
2 tablespoons (divided)
 
For the sauce:
2 tablespoons
tamari soy sauce
2 tablespoons
3 tablespoons
rice vinegar
1 teaspoon
freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon
cane sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons
potato starch
2 teaspoons

    Gather all the ingredients.

    Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small container.

    Put a paper towel in a microwave safe container. Place tofu.

    Cover with a paper towel and nuke for 2 minutes at 600W.

    Cut the tofu into several cubes.

    Oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add tofu.

    Cook until nicely browned on all sides.

    Remove from the skillet and set aside.

    Add oil and heat to medium. Add garlic. Cook until fragrant.

    Add pepper, celery, and onion. Cook and stir until wilted.

    Add the sauce mix. Bring it to a simmer. Cook until thick.

    Add the tofu and toss well to combine with the sauce. Serve.

コツ・ポイント

Add potato starch in the sauce mix to create a "syrupy" texture in the sauce. This easily coats the tofu and veggies.

My husband doesn't really indulge in vinegar, but he likes citrus. Using lemon juice makes a sweet and sour sauce :)
