Description

Good for grilled cheese and hamburgers!

材料

yellow or Vidalia onion
2 larges
kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon
freshly ground black pepper
to taste
red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons
water

    Make an angled cut into the onions.

    Stand by the cup of water and the lid.

    Oil in a large skillet over medium high heat, add onion/salt

    Add a couple tablespoons of water, then cover.

    Cook and stir once or twice until the onions get softened.

    Uncover, stirring occasionally.

    If the bottom of the skillet browns, call a rescue squad!

    Pour 2-3 tablespoons of water over the brown part.

    Scrape away all brown parts with a wooden spatula,

    Repeat: Gets brown→pour water→scrape the bottom until...

    Cook until the onion is a deep golden brown.

    Remove from heat, stir in pepper and vinegar.

コツ・ポイント

If the bottom of the skillet gets brown, make sure to scrape all the brown parts into the onion for caramelization.
