Lo Mein Pasta
Description
Another Chinese takeout pasta!
材料
(3-4 servings)
spaghetti
300 g
your choice of protein
200 g

beef, chicken, pork (thinly sliced) shrimp (peeled and deveined) or tofu (chop into bite-sized pieces)
garlic (minced)
2 cloves
baby bella mushroom (sliced)

snow peas
1 cup
red bell pepper (julienne)
1/2 medium
scallions (cut into 2 inch long pieces)

bean sprout
1 cup
canola oil
1 tablespoon + 2 tablespoons

For the sauce:
oyster sauce
3 tablespoons
Chinese dark soy sauce
2 teaspoons
sake
2 tablespoons
ground white pepper
1/8 teaspoon
cane sugar
2 teaspoons
toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon
chicken bouillon powder
1 teaspoon
3 tablespoons
potato starch
1 tablespoon

Cook pasta according to the package directions. Set aside.

Mix all the sauce ingredients.

Gather all the ingredients.

Today, I chose bison meat for our protein!

NOTE: If you chose meat, marinate with 1 tsp soy sauce →

1 tsp canola oil, 1 tsp potato starch for 10 minutes.

Oil in a wok over medium high heat, add meat.

Cook until heated through. Place on a plate.

Add oil, mushrooms, peas, garlic, then cook.

Add pepper, scallion and stir. Cook until wilted.

Add bean sprouts and meat right before adding pasta.

Add pasta/sauce. Toss until sauce is coated evenly.

Remove from the heat. Serve!

We do use pasta for this, but of course you can use fresh egg noodles! You can make REAL takeout noodles at home!

Lo Mein is a saucy dish compared to Chow Mein. Fresh egg noodles work best for this, but for us, pasta works :-)
