Cut off the stem end of the okura.

Peel off the edge of the calyx with a knife.

Place the okura on the cutting board.

Sprinkle kosher salt over the okuras.

Rub okura gently back and forth against the cutting board.

Bring water to a boil in a medium pot or pan.

Put in the okras into a pot (without removing the salt).

Blanch for 1.5-2 mins (flip okura at times to evenly cook).

Transfer the okura to a colander.

Run cool water over the okura and drain well.

Tap with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Chop into bite sized pieces.
