Description

Oven-baked curry bread is healthier than when it's fried!

材料 (6 servings)

for the bread:
bread flour
300 g
cane sugar
15 g
kosher salt
4 g
place the egg into the measuring cup and pour up to 225 ml of milk
1 large
dry yeast
4 g
unsalted butter
30 g
 
leftover curry (chilled)
canola oil
2 tablespoons
panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
1/3 cup

    Gently press the dough to release the air.

    W/ a rolling pin, roll the ball into a disc about ¼" thick.

    Put 2 tablespoons of curry in the center of the dough.

    Bring the edges of the dough up to meet each other.

    Pinch tightly to seal the edges of the dough.

    Form a football shape.

    Add canola oil into a shallow bowl.

    Place the panko in a shallow bowl.

    Coat the bread with canola oil.

    Dip it in panko, and gently press it to stick to the panko.

    Place the bread, seam side on the bottom, on a baking pan.

    Leave them in the oven until they double in size(30-40 mins)

    NOTE: I set hot water under the rack to stop it from drying.

    Remove the baking pan and cover while preheating the oven.

    NOTE: I use the same size of baking pan to cover it.

    Preheat the oven to 400 F.

    Bake the rolls for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

    Remove from the oven, and place them on the rack. Serve.

    NOTE: If your curry has large chunks, mash it before use.

コツ・ポイント

If the leftover curry is thinner, thicken the curry by cooking it off to prevent it from trickling out from the bread.
